We went up to Lennox today on our way to meet up with Nancy and Peter, Peter and Donna.
First we stopped at Stanmeyer Shaker Dam coffeehouse

where we got coffee so as to stay awake in the play. We sat back on the porch overlooking the little stream and listening to the loud and raucous sparrows tweeting up a storm. We have been there before, but can't remember the details. I'll go looking for that trip probably recorded on another blog.
We then took a walk around the Shakespeare and Company grounds and enjoyed the fresh air and the old dilapidated buildings as well as the pond where I spit in the water and bluegills rose to it, just like at Lime Lake.
The play was great fun and everyone agreed it was well done. Perhaps our seats did not fit the needs of the older Peter. He could not hear the younger woman. I was wide awake and loved the whole thing.

Afterwards we went to Lee for Salmon run and I had my favorite blue cheese salmon. It was just grand. Good veggies. Rather bad wine for $8. I'll skip that next time.
The conversation was on the nuances of the play, but also on Nancy recent trip to Israel. I had not realized that Jews who had been in Middle Eastern countries for 2,000 were forced to move out into Israel when that state was created.
It was great to listen to everyone. I even worked in my favorite joke.
What do you call a haughty prison inmate as he walks down a staircase?
A condescending con descending.
